| With its friendly atmosphere and a wide range
of beers, ales and - of course - good whisky, the bar is a great place to
unwind and listen to tales of the sea. Portree's name comes from the Gaelic
"Port-an-Righ", which translates as King's Port and dates to a
visit in 1540 by King James V, complete with warships, to persuade the island
clans to support him. It had earlier been known as Kiltraglen. |
